Privacy Policy
Short version: right now MyFoot is a waitlist. We collect your email so we can tell you when we launch, and a referral link so you can move up the line. When the app launches and you choose to scan your feet, your photos are used to generate your score — they are not sold, and not posted anywhere. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains how MyFoot ("MyFoot", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit our website, join our waitlist, or — once available — use the MyFoot app. By using MyFoot, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you join the waitlist.
- Referral information — the unique referral link assigned to you, and whether you arrived through a friend's link.
- Messages — anything you send us, e.g. by emailing hey@myfoot.me.
- Photos of your feet (at launch only) — if and when you choose to scan, the images you submit and the scores, ratings, and analysis generated from them.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data — browser type, device type, pages viewed, and how you interact with the site.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address (city/country level), for analytics and security.
- Local storage & cookies — we store your waitlist status and referral code in your browser's local storage so your place is remembered. See Section 6.
2. How we use your information
- To run the waitlist and tell you when MyFoot is ready.
- To operate the referral / "skip the line" program and calculate queue position.
- To send you product updates and launch news (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To generate your foot score and results when you use the app (at launch).
- To measure interest, improve the product, and keep the service secure and free of abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Your foot photos & results
We take this seriously because we know it's the question on your mind. If you choose to scan your feet in the app:
- Your photos are used only to generate your score, ratings, and the analysis you asked for.
- We do not sell your photos, and we do not publish them or attach them to your public profile without your explicit choice to share.
- Any score card you choose to share is created and posted only when you tap "share".
- You can delete your photos and results from your account at any time.
Foot scanning is offered for entertainment. MyFoot is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Consent — for marketing emails and for processing photos you choose to submit. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — to run, secure, and improve the service and the referral program.
- Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate — for example our waitlist/email provider, hosting, and analytics — under contracts that limit their use of your data.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of MyFoot and others.
- Business transfers — if MyFoot is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that deal.
6. Cookies & local storage
We use a small amount of browser local storage to remember your waitlist spot and referral code, and we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. You can clear local storage and cookies in your browser settings at any time.
7. Data retention
We keep your email for as long as you're on the waitlist or a MyFoot user, and until you ask us to delete it. Photos and results are retained only as long as needed to provide the service, or until you delete them. We may keep limited records where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct or update inaccurate information.
- Delete your information ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request portability of your data.
- Withdraw consent, and unsubscribe from emails at any time.
California residents have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — and we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any right, email us at hey@myfoot.me. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Children
MyFoot is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by law.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to limit access to it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MyFoot evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
